Bmi set for takeover by Lufthansa
German carrier Lufthansa is poised to take control of Bmi, the UK airline controlled by Sir Michael Bishop for the past 30 years, in a deal that could value the business at £500m-£600m.

Phantom flight service grounded
BMI is to cancel a 'phantom' service after confirmation that the airline is flying an empty 124-seat plane between Cardiff and London six times a week in order to retain landing slots at Heathrow.
