Airbus delay slows Emirates' plans for Australian market

Airlines cool on taking 62 percent Virgin Blue stake from Toll

TOLL Holdings' plans to offload its 62 per cent stake in Virgin Blue has so far received a lukewarm response, with Singapore Airlines already ruling itself out and Emirates playing down rumours it is interested in the domestic airline.

Toronto looks forward to emirates' arrival

In preparation for its anticipated arrival in Toronto, Emirates Airline hosted its signature roadshow event to introduce its award winning products and services to travel and cargo agents.

Emirates begins flying non-stop between Toronto and Dubai 29th October on its Boeing 777 300-ER aircraft.

Emirates unveils its jumbo-sized plans

Emirates wants to double its fleet of 55 Airbus A380 super jumbo jets and is considering an order for up to 100 next-generation A350s or Boeing 787s, as it moves ahead with plans to grow into the world's biggest international airline.

The chairman of Emirates Airlines - Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum of the ruling family of Dubai - has grand ambitions, and a bankroll to match. He wants to make Dubai, a sheikhdom by the sea, the busiest airline hub in the world, overtaking London, New York and Singapore.

Emirates on runway for extra flights

The Australian Government is expected to decide if it will permit Emirates Airlines to fly 16 daily services to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth by 2014, a decision which would boost the UAE carrier's plans to become the biggest foreign airline flying to Australia.
