Every year The Economist magazine publishes the Big Mac Index. This is a list of Big Mac prices from a selection of countries around the world. The price of a Big Mac is then converted from its local currency into US dollars for comparisons sake. It is a handy table for travellers to refer to get an idea of how expensive a country is.

The CommSec iPod Index is based on this concept using a 2GB iPod Nano in $US as a comparison. CommSec (an Australian financial institution) says it has used the iPod nano as a comparative object as iPods are predominantly made in China, while a Big Mac has "components" that vary in production costs in each country.

City Glow, Mountain Whisper is an art installation by Japanese artist Chiho Aoshima presented by the London Underground as part of the Platform for art program.

This can be seen at Gloucester Road Underground station from 25 July 2006 until 25 January 2007.
