£1 Bus Tickets in the U.K - Part 2

With the boom of low cost airlines in Europe it was only a matter of time before land bound transportation made a competitive reply.

Last month I featured £1 Bus Tickets in the U.K with National Express funfares. There are now at least two other bus companies in the UK that are offering bus tickets similar to the low cost airlines model.

megabus.com offer tickets from £1 ( plus 50p booking fee) for 20 destinations around the UK. Like the low cost airlines, the earlier you book, the more you save.

easybus.co.uk is part of the easyGroup which brought us one of the first UK low cost airlines easyJet.

easyBus will start pilot services by the summer of 2004. At this stage they only have one service advertised: London to Milton Keynes from £1. This one looks like a pitch for commuters though as Milton Keynes isn't exactly a Mecca of British Tourism.

Feature Website

BookCrossing

I just discovered this website and it looks like fun. Book swapping with a twist.

The general idea is that you register (free) and then once you are done reading a book register them at the website, write down the URL and the allocated ID number inside the cover, and then give them away or leave them where someone will find them.
This is a great outlet to share with the world your favourite books and you get to track where they go, for the life of the book. Hopefully you will end up with a collection of well travelled books.
