Collegiate St Peters Church. Notes from the church:
The current Brabant high-Gothic church replaces an earlier Romanesque church, which was equally wide but not as long. The basic section of a round crypt behind the Romanesque chancel is located under the current chancel.
The chancel and nave were built throughout the 15th century by architects Sulpitius van Vorst, Jan Keldermans and Matheus de Layens. Completed chancel section with seven radiating chapels. The unity of style was preserved throughout the construction period.
The towers were built as from 1500 under Josse Metsys. The tower front with two lateral towers and higher middle tower was never completed and only comes up to the rafters of the nave. The towers were used as a municipal belfry.
One of the most important art possessions is "The Last Supper" of Dirk Bouts.
