EUROPEAN RAIL PASSES
All Europe Passes
If you're planning to do the "Grand Tour of Europe" a Eurail pass or Interrail pass is the ticket, depending on your country of residence.
Eurail passes are available for people living outside the EU. The Eurail Global Pass is available in a number of combinations, from 15 days to 3 months of consecutive travel or 10/15 days within 2 months.
If you have lived in Europe for six consecutive months before travelling, then you will be eligible for the Interrail pass.
The Global Pass covers all participating European countries, except for your country of residence.
There a number of regional pass options available which are ideal if you are planning to explore one region.
Eurail Selectpass offer 5, 6, 8 or 10 days of rail travel within any 2 month period on the national rail networks of any 3, 4 or 5 bordering countries out of 23 European countries that are connected by train or ship.
Eurail Regional Pass is a pass valid for 2 selected countries, and allows unlimited rail travel for 3 up to 10 days within 2 months.
Single Country Passes
Non-European residents can travel with the Eurail One Country Pass
European residents may travel on a One-Country Pass from Interrail.
Point to Point TicketsPoint to point tickets are the best option if you know you wont be using the train enough to warrant using a pass. Sometimes you may need to get a point to point ticket to complement a regional pass.
For example, if you have a France travel pass and you are coming from Barcelona, it would be much better to buy a single ticket than to get a France/Spain pass.
