European Rail Passes

Rail Europe - rail pass overview.

RAIL PASSES

All Europe Passes

If you're planning to do the "Grand Tour" of Europe then your options will be one of the following:

Eurail

Eurail passes are available for people living outside the EU and is valid for travel in 17 countries across Europe.

Interrail

If you have lived in Europe for six consecutive months before travelling, then you will be eligible for the Interrail pass.

Regional Passes

There a number of regional pass options available which are ideal if you are planning to explore one region.

• Balkan Flexipass - Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia & Montenegro and Turkey.
• Benelux Tourrail Pass - Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.
• European East Pass - Austria, Czech, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.
• Iberic Flexipass - Portugal and Spain.
• Scanrail Pass - Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Point to Point Tickets

Point to point tickets are the best option if you know you wont be using the train enough to warrant using a pass. Sometimes you may need to get a point to point ticket to complement a regional pass. For example, if you have a German travel pass and you are coming from Italy, it would be much better to buy a single ticket than to get another regional pass.
