La Bocca Della Verità (“the Mouth of Truth”) is located in the portico of the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin in Rome, Italy. It is famously known as a lie detector. it was believed that if you put your hand in the mouth of the sculpture and told a lie, it would be bitten off.
You may have seen this image at an amusement parlour as a Fortune Teller.
