3 airports blocked as Thai protests spread
Protesters in Thailand ratcheted up their campaign to oust the government of Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej on Friday, occupying or blocking three provincial airports and unsuccessfully attacking the metropolitan police headquarters in the capital.

Travel warning issued for Georgia
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has reissued a warning to travellers saying Australians should not visit the separatist region of South Ossetia in Georgia as fighting continues.
There have been fierce clashes between Georgian and Russian troops despite calls from world leaders to end the violence.
The department says Australians should reconsider any travel plans to Georgia because of the high risk of crime against foreigners, including kidnapping.
