German rail privatisation agreed
A quarter of Germany's state rail firm is to be privatised after the country's politicians gave the go-ahead.
The long-disputed plan will see a 25% stake in Deutsche Bahn's passenger and freight services arm sold to investors, raising between 5bn and 8bn euros.

German train drivers walk off job
Thousands of German commuters jumped in their cars or packed buses on Friday, as 1,500 train drivers staged strikes in an effort to disrupt the nation's vast commuter network. More than 1,700 regional trains - about 50 percent of Germany's commuter rolling stock - did not run, railway operator Deutsche Bahn AG said.

Mumbai trains may be world's deadliest commute
They are the arteries that keep Mumbai's economy ticking, rattling 6 million people a day to offices, shops and factories. But arriving safe and sound for work after a trip on Mumbai's clogged railways is no mean feat. European rail to compete with airlines
