My Celebrated Tribe ...
This will be the day's final message to clutter up your in-box . Actually, it will be my last letter this year. I leave Zanzibar in a few hours on the overnight boat to begin my odyssey to Zimbabwe.
Do any of you make New Year's resolutions? I have never done so in the past ... but in the year 2001 I resolve to:
- survive
- eat absolutely no lima beans
- stay out of any Turkish prisons
- sleep at least thirty hours per week
- learn how to yodel
- teach a monkey how to juggle
- lose my virginity
- ponder sunsets
- master the art of wiggling my ears
- surf Jeffrey's Bay, South Africa
- memorize clouds
- spread the apostle of Walt Whitman
- catch a leprechaun
- attain enlightenment
- embrace magic
- share my rum with all the peg-legged pirates I meet
- howl at the sky when the moon is full
- determine how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop
- discover a new color
- forgive the evil Nepalese monkey clan
- decipher the lyrics to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
More importantly, I hope that our paths cross and entwine sometime during the next year.
- anticipating 2001: A Space Odyssey ... your terrestrial oddity ... Kevin
