Throughout Canada, the province of Ontario is the most highly populated. This means that it contains almost all of the multi-national food chains, plus endless gourmet options which will surprise and delight. As well as this, travel to any large hub and you should be able to find almost every type of food. This is due to the large immigrant population creating a diverse, exciting experience. The city of Toronto is the capital of Ontario and is the most populous of all the Canadian cities. So if you decide to come here, you will be guaranteed to come into contact with much diversity.

One thing which many people think of when traveling to Canada is their famous Maple Syrup. Aside from Quebec, most of this is extracted and manufactured in Ontario. However, if you want a lovely sit down meal in Toronto, try Bistro 990, which refines French country dishes in an upscale way. It is important to try out French cuisine when visiting Ontario, as here there is a large French speaking community. This means you are likely to find good quality, authentic French food. There are also many Chinese restaurants as well as others, so you will be able to take your pick.

For places to drink, as long as you are 19 years old and have a valid ID, you will find an abundance of options. Beer is a speciality in Canada and there is also a thriving wine industry. The Niagara region of Ontario is one of the main places for wine production and here you can fine fragrances to wet your appetite, plus lovely scenery. For example, Niagara Escarpment will take your breath away with its glacier-carved ridge, which is responsible for the Niagara Falls.

So, food and drink in Ontario is abundant and varied. From French cuisine, to beer and wine, there is sure to be something for everyone.
