Southern Italy Tips

June 20, 2011 By itravelnet.com

Tourists in Italy spend most of their time in the northern parts of Italy, never heading further south than Rome.

If you really want to be far from crowds, then head south. People who travel the most to southern Italy are Italians – the location is famous for its wonderful beaches and also other things, so vacationing Italians and Europeans get in line for the best beaches in Italy every summer. You’ll get to see what people call “the real Italy” if you step away from the heavily tourist regions up north. Plus, southern Italy is definitely going to be cheaper to travel to than the north – and that’s always good news for any budget traveler out there.

Southern Italy has a colorful, multicultural heritage captured in its unique history. A history of kings, queens, emperors, popes, knights, nobles, artists, poets, musicians, craftsmen, farmers and many others. It is the history of many people, many faiths and many languages.

Of all the wonderful places to visit in these Southern Italian pearls, we highly suggest you take a trip to Sorrento, located near the Amalfi Coast, in the Province of Naples. The Sorrentine Peninsula has one of the most astonishing landscapes in the world, where hills, deep valleys and majestic mountains alternate, where infinite orange and lemon trees can be found, and beautiful olive groves and vineyards make wonderful olive oil and wines, adding a special flavor to your every meal. In a safe atmosphere, everybody wants to spend their vacations here, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from nature, health and culture, beaches, thermal treatments, boat excursions, visits to the old city centers with monasteries and cloisters, like the one of San Francesco in Sorrento; also let’s not forget the numerous sports activities, musical events, theatre performances, night clubs and bars. Surrounded by Mediterranean type villas, this place will remain unforgettable once you leave.

Staying in one of the splendid Sorrento villa for rent, means staying in self-catering, panoramic beauties that you will only find here. Come visit the true Pearl of the South!
