Tenerife

July 12, 2011 By itravelnet.com

The Canary Islands are beautiful and warm, an ideal place to spend a holiday. Tenerife is the biggest of these islands and is where you will find a great many things to see and do. There are a lot of different types of beaches, including seashores created by volcanic activity, making them dark in colour. You can still find the much sought after light coloured sands however, especially in the north of the island in Las Teresitas. Here you will find palm trees and lovely calm waters, making it one of the most praised beaches in the whole of Tenerife.

There are many different Tenerife Hotels, including some located near this great beach. One such hotel is the Bahia Principe Tenerife, located on the southern tip of the island in Costa Adeje. This is situated beside the Bahia Principe Costa Adeji, along the seafront. Together, these afford fantastic sea views as well as taking up around 8000sqm. The hotel boasts its own shopping and leisure center, so you will not have to go far to find something to do. This hotel is 0.3 km away from the Plage de Las Teresitas and is a great location to make your base for a holiday. Only slightly further from the beach is the Hotel Nautico. With 40 rooms, it is much simpler than the Bahia Principe Tenerife, however is still in a great location.

There is a lot of accommodation to be found in Puerto de la Cruz. Here, in the second largest tourist city in Tenerife, you can also find places to relax and hotels are more popular than apartments. In this area there are lots of great Tenerife restaurants, especially in the streets near the Plaza del Charco. Here, you can dine in the warm, open air.

Food in Tenerife is something which must be sampled when on holiday there. There are a great many restaurants featuring international cuisine, but if you can, you should look for one which serves more local specialties. These include fresh produce such as fish, meat, fruit and vegetables, often made into stews and casseroles.

Tenerife has so much to offer the holiday visitor. If you want to find out more information, please visit Mydestination.com/tenerife and have a fantastic time.
