Travel Improves Educational Attainment & Future Success

July 20, 2019 By itravelnet.com

Travel Improves Educational Attainment & Future Success

“Travel Improves Educational Attainment & Future Success” is a study conducted by The Wagner Group.

The survey focused on how learning-focused travel impacted career growth and academic performance.

400 adults from America participated in the study. Reportedly, the participants had taken an educational trip when they were between the ages of 12 and 18. Income, race and gender were factored into the survey.

What Is An Educational Trip?

The researchers — in coordination with Junior Tours – a student travel agency — defined an “educational trip” as a “domestic trip” taken between the ages of 12 and 18.

During the trip, the individuals learned the culture or history of the location they were visiting. The overnight trip could have been taken with family or a school but had to be at least 50 miles away from where they lived. Highly beneficial educational trips are available from.

The Results

Over 50 percent of the participants received better grades.

Fifty-seven percent attended college. All of the participants earned 12 percent or $5,000 more than those who never went on educational trips.

Fulfills Curiosity

Many people are curious about the history of America. Either they want to learn more about a specific area or just admire the people who were involved in building it.

Regardless, an educational trip is the best way to learn the history of a city, municipality or town. Educational trips offer hands-on experience, which is something you cannot get from a magazine or book. Some people learn faster by participating in hands-on activities than others.

Learn Different Languages

The great thing about knowing English is that it is nearly spoken everywhere. Over the years, English has become a universal language.

Despite this fact, it is always better to learn the native language of the country that you are visiting. Traveling in a way will force you to learn and practice these languages. There are a variety of books, apps, and videos that you can utilize to learn the language.

Once you have the basics down, you can venture in-country and start practicing with the local vendors and patrons. If you get lost or confused don’t worry about embarrassing yourself because you can always revert back to the universal language of English.

Helps Develop Gratitude

Ultimately, a lot of younger people do not have enough gratitude. This is going to be a major problem on down the line.

If they are not thankful for the things they have in life, there is a good chance that they’re going to take them for granted.

In return, they’ll probably slack off at school and lose out on big opportunities. Well, these individuals need to obtain gratitude. They can get it by seeing how other people live around the world.

Once they’ve visited a 3rd world country, they’ll realize that they have a lot going for them. In return, they’ll be much more likely to take advantage of the opportunities that come their way.

Leads To Many Eye-Opening Experiences

Traveling gives students the ability to experience many things. Many of those experiences will indeed be eye-opening.

This is a good thing. Students need to get out there and see new things. Otherwise, they’re never going to experiment and their knowledge will be limited.

Traveling can change that. Once they’ve hit the road, they’ll see new places, new people, and they’ll have many great experiences. That will pay off dividends in the long run.
