Zimbabwe

June 7, 2011 By itravelnet.com

You might be attracted to Zimbabwe because of the herds of elephants and other animals whose home is here. Also, the national parks provide a brilliant opportunity to see the scenery and animals which this place has to offer. But by far the most popular tourist attraction is the Victoria Falls.

This majestic site, where the Zambezi River plunges down into a mass of sparkling water in several waterfalls, is a real feast for the eyes as well as the ears. Its crashing roar will reach you from far away and draw you towards it. If you are feeling really adventurous, you can even bungee jump over the Falls and experience its majesty up close. If you want to visit this, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, then there are various Zimbabwe hotels which you can stay in.

The Victoria Falls Hotel is the ideal choice, situated only ten minutes away from its namesake. It is a five-star hotel, nicknamed “the grand old lady of the Falls” and is one of three 1SO-accredited hotels in Zimbabwe. If you stay here, you will find luxury and fine dining, as well as dancing and ethnic entertainment.

Alternatively, the Ilala Lodge offers more affordable accommodation, yet still with great service. All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms with air conditioning and satellite TV. But if you really want to get away from it all, there is self-catering accommodation available near the Victoria Falls as well, where you can truly get back to nature.

If you want to visit another area, there are many other rooms in Zimbabwe which are available to the curious visitor. There are safari lodges in many areas, self-catering houses and cheap hostels. Whichever one takes your fancy, there is bound to be something suited to your needs. From the national parks and gorgeous scenery to the animals and the mountains looking over Mozambique in Eastern Zimbabwe, there is so much to see and do here.
