The caves have been used for many things over time. They served as a speakeasy during Prohibition and as a venue for concerts in the 1950s.

Visit the Pythian Castle

The Pythian Castle was built in 1913 and is an important landmark in the city. The Knights of Pythias built this amazing property before it was transferred to the United States military. The building is now listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places. The building is said to be haunted and there are tours of the castle providing an entertaining history.

Watch a Show at the Gillioz Theatre

The Gillioz Theatre was built In 1926 by M. E. Gillioz. His usual work involved constructing bridges, so the theater was built mainly from concrete and steel. One of the theater’s famous visitors, Elvis Presley, spent an afternoon watching a movie here before before performing in the city. These days the theater hosts musical shows and has a capacity of 1,300 people.

This is a museum that’s all about getting involved. It was designed to have interactive exhibits that inspire individuals of all ages. The museum opened in 1988, and it has been evolving ever since. At the museum, you get to play with various exhibits, which is a fun way to learn how things work. This is a highly recommended day out of fun for all ages.

Enjoy a Stage Show at the Landers Theatre

The Landers Theatre is a beautiful place where you can spend your time watching a show in Springfield. The building is registered on the United State National Register of Historic Places. The theater opened in 1909 and has been entertaining locals and visitors alike ever since.
